This is a great audio theater production and I enjoyed it very much.

overall i loved this book but i have to admit there are some dull parts. it jumps around between POVs every couple chapters and one of them felt super dull to me, the other parts 100% made up for it but that doesn't change that they were a…

Just finished reading Book 3 here of the His Dark Materials trilogy on Jan. 18th 2023 for the Winter Reading Challenge. This is a book I own and got the trilogy for Christmas a few years ago but finally got around to reading it. Of the 3…

The Amber Spyglass is the conclusion to Philip Pullman’s “His Dark Materials'' series. Readers continue off where Lord Asriel prepares for a war against Metatron and the heavens. With our protagonist Lyra Belacqua currently asleep within a…

I read this book to fulfil the goal read A book with a gem, mineral, or rock in the title- It had been a while since i read the first too, so I probably would have enjoyed it more had the gap between reading the second and third books…

Book 3 of Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" series - More convoluted and drenched in discussions of moral philosophy, the conclusion to the grand narratives from the previous volumes. At times, very dry, and at others it is difficult…

Too many threads to gather at the end. Looking forward to his next trilogy explaining more about dust.

I loved the first two books of this series! However, I could not keep myself interested in this third installment and eventually returned it.

This trilogy had a lot of promise but fell real short across the board and the moral of the characters and how corrupt they are is so bad that I truly question how anyone would recommend this as a children’s book. I am not saying this…

An interesting conclusion to an intriguing story.

This is an amazing and thought provoking conclusion to a wonderful series. This novel takes a very substantial and dramatic turn from its predecessors. It delves deeper into the worlds that were created so beautifully by Pullman and…

Loved the first two books, lots of non stop action and fairly good character development, but obviously a fairly offensive subject matter in this one that I would not have my 10 year old read. Made it to the angels and found my attention…

Truly a classic trilogy. Even better, it can be enjoyed in adolescence and as an adult, so reading it again as an adult now brings nostalgia AND intrigue (still!). Very few fictions deserve such accolades, this one is a masterpiece!

A quick read; I was quite surprised by Mrs. Coulter's sacrifice; though not by Lord Asriel's. I really liked Lord Roke and his compatriots; also Mary Malone and the mulefa. I thought it neat the way she adapted to a different world so…

I was intrigued by the series. I liked the ideas in the books and felt it was very imaginative. It was a lot different than the movie, there were some points I was shocked by how much difference there was. I have to say I was somewhat…

I think that If you are a Christian, you shouldn't read this. That being said, I love the imagery in this book. The rich depiction of creatures. It also depicted them intelligently and scientifically... But the ending was very very…

I more so tried to read this... starting in the 2nd book the mythological aspect was laid on a little thick for me and the opinions were a little too blasphemous for me to buy into.

The ending felt like an odd turn for the books, but I still enjoyed reading it. His writing was consistent throughout all three novels, but his resolution took an odd tone that ignored a lot of the established characteristics for both Lyra…

I really loved this book. It was a great ending, but I was sad to see the pain that has built up in Lyra and I really wanted her to be happy. I loved how this was still an out of this world story line and I could almost believe that I was…

As opposed to the previous commenter, i have actually read this book. (Nope, the parents don't all die) And whilst i bristle when stories get too religious, this one actually refers to several different belief systems and in the end it…
