The illustrations, though! They are so colorful, and there is so much to see on each page.

This cheerful story of interfaith celebration was inspired by Patricia Polacco's own childhood experiences. Some of the characters also appear in her other books. Polacco casually weaves a few Russian, Yiddish, and Hebrew words in to the story, and readers can use context clues to discern the meanings of these words.

This is a wonderful story, and it shows how much we depend on each other, and how important diversity is. This story should be both a Hanukkah and Christmas classic!

This story celebrates the miracle of true friendship. Based on the memory of the Author's childhood.
