This is a great storytime book that you can read with your child to introduce the concept of hibernation. Bear realizes winter is coming and proceeds to tell his other forest friends to make preparations. Each animal then goes on to tell another animal, until eventually Ladybug goes back to tell bear, who is already sleeping away in his cave. Very cute illustrations. (submitted by SV)

worked well at Toddler time as had the children say with me " winter is on ti's way" and the "good night" at the end.

I use this every year in the fall - great read aloud for preschool/kindergarten age. The kids love hearing different voices for the animals, and then the joke at the end. Could be used as a play or puppet show too.
