Add a CommentThis wonderful story is a lot different from the movie, but I think it's a lot better too. Mary Poppins is quite a different character in the book!
A good movie to watch is "Saving Mr. Banks", about how Walt Disney got Mrs. Travers to allow him to make the movie.
I really enjoyed this book!
Mary Poppins is a witty lady. She takes care of the children of the Banks Family. They go on magical adventures, and meet interesting people. This book was a great classic!
The Banks family is having trouble finding a nanny for their mischievous children. As if by magic, Mary Poppins blows in on the East Wind with her parrot headed umbrella and magic carpet bag full of tricks. Mary is an immediate hit with the children as she introduces them to unusual and interesting people and adventures!
really good book! read it
Marry Poppins will always be one of my favourite books. She is such a timeless character and I never get tired of this story. It’s one of the great classics of children's literature. Marry Poppins is by far the coolest nanny. I remember when I was little my mom used to Marry Poppins to me and I couldn't help but be in awe of Marry Poppins, she was this magical nanny who made these great adventures. Coming back to this book 8 or 9 years later, my mom and I still felt the same awe for Marry Poppins and it was nice remembering all the fun we had reading this book. She pointed out to me how much I loved the Laughing Gas incident and reading it again made me realize how universal Marry Poppin's story is. That even though we've changed so much, I guess we're all still a kid at heart. And that’s what this book does. It appeals to the inner child in you and lets you have adventures even though your days of hiding in tree houses and building pillow forts are over. I think everyone should read this book, no matter what age you are. My mom and I enjoyed this book even though the last time we read it was so long ago; Marry Poppins was in our hearts. She inspires people to live life to the fullest, and that you’re never too old for another adventure. Like a nice cup of tea, Marry Poppins is a wonderful book that will have you smiling.
this is one of the greatest books in the world!!
