One of the worst books I've picked up in a long time. I had really been enjoying the series until this one. The loss of one of the main characters put things off to a bad start but then the plot was so ridiculous--I mean really how many near-death-experiences/burning houses can you cram into one book?--I was reduced to skimming it and finally just gave up. While I would read an Alex Jensen mystery without Jessie Arnold, I will not be reading any more Jessie Arnold books without Alex Jensen...
