So much fun to read a story of an unadventurous introvert being brought along on an adventure with fun and loveably odd characters to epic lands on a tremendous adventure. You come to love every moment of the story as much as the main character eventually does.

Bilbo Baggins is a lovable curmudgeon if I've ever seen one. It was an honor to travel with him as he faced his anxiety, pushed through his mountains of reluctance, and found out how green the grass really was on the other side.

It is really good book to read. I am big fan of Lord of the rings and the hobbit movies and wanted to read books. This is really great story. The only thing i didn't like in this particular copy is the text. It is not really good font or the spacing is bad but as far as story goes it is as awesome as the movies.

absolutely wonderful

I would tell you every wonderful thing about this book, but that would be impossible. Let's just say I love this book dearly, it being my first introduction to the wonderful works of J.R.R. Tolkien. His writing is impossibly good, and Bilbo Baggins is one of the most likable characters in all fantasy. Gollum is pretty cool, too. He might be my favorite character, actually. Riddles In The Dark is definitely my favorite chapter, for certain reasons. :) The ending is really sad, though. Anyway, the point of this rambling comment is to say: this book is AMAZING and you have to read it at least once in your life (or else!)

Bilbo Baggins, an introverted hobbit, is forced on an adventure with dwarves and a wizard. This book takes you to a faraway land full of magic and adventure. - Emerson, Teen Volunteer

This book was very good. A long-time children's classic that somehow astonishes and mystifies the reader with it brunt style and beautiful diction. It was pretty much like the three movies, minus the pale orc guy and the in-depth relationship between Kili and the girl elf (none of which were specifically mentioned), but all the same it was wonderful to actually read this story. I loved it and Bilbo, especially how much he grows throughout the tale. I have yet to read the Lord of the Rings trilogy but I have made certain to note the sword named Sting, the elf-prince's magic mail, and above all the mysterious and curiously powerful Ring.
Great story, love Beorn so much more know.
