A tense thriller combining the author's love of airplanes with the ferociousness of fire. The desperate fight to bring down forest fires in Montana forms the backdrop for the plot with a pilot worried about the safety of the planes he and his colleagues use. Nance really conveys the danger of fire in just the right way, and keeps the suspension and tension rolling as he goes along.

Both a good adventure / mystery novel plus solid background on forest fire fighting
