For anyone who doesn't know this - (actress) Mary Pickford (aka. "America's Sweetheart") was, in fact, a Canadian (born and raised in Toronto, Ontario).

Mary Pickford (birth-name - Gladys Louise Smith) was, without question, Hollywood's most popular and beloved actress during the 1910's and 1920's.

When Pickford married matinee-idol, Douglas Fairbanks in 1911 - These 2 mega-stars became Hollywood's very first "royal" couple of the silver screen and they lived their part to the hilt.

Through stills, interviews, and archival footage - This entertaining PBS bio-documentary takes a close-up look at the life and times of Mary Pickford.

(*Note*) - In 1979 - Mary Pickford (87 at the time) died of cerebral hemorrhage.
