In this "natural phenomenon" documentary-DVD, from Nova, the viewer meets up with a group of inquisitive and very determined meteorologists who are out to understand the true nature of tornadoes.

Through Doppler radar, in combination with computer simulation, these diligent meteorologists follow the paths of tornadoes with actual wind-power that reaches up to 300 mph.

As an added bonus for all you "thrill seekers" - This documentary features some very good visuals of the incredible destructive power unleashed by various tornadoes in Oklahoma and its surrounding states.

You know (as a spectator sitting in my easy-chair), after watching all of the destructive power that tornadoes can unleash upon man-made structures, it really puzzles me as to why people actually continue to live in these hardest-hit areas of the USA, at all.

It seems that (if conditions are right) a mighty mean and nasty tornado (with winds up to 300 mph.) can strike, without warning, leaving homes and property wrecked beyond recognition. Yet, when this happens, these (seemingly foolish) folks (particularly in the state of Oklahoma) remain living in these volatile regions and just rebuild what was destroyed (which will probably be trashed again by another tornado, soon enough).

Yes. I can certainly see why these areas of America attract a lot of thrill seekers, 'cause , believe me, a tornado (especially an F4 or F5) is an awesome phenomenon to behold. But to actually live in these places makes little sense to me.

Featuring some really excellent footage of some very real tornadoes, as well as examples of computer simulated storms, The Hunt For The SuperTwister (presented by Nova) had a running time of approx. sixty minutes.

Watch video.
