Well done documentary about school and community efforts to recognize the holocaust ...yet, we now live in a parallel time, repeating the same mistakes?

Very well made documentary that puts a face on studying the Holocaust, and the uplifting results of educating all of us from an early age about our shared history when it comes to standing up against tyranny and prejudice throughout the world. Special features are also great including Holocaust survivor interviews, and BTS footage.

This documentary should be required viewing for every 8th grade class in the United States!

Liked this very much. An interesting and inspiring tale of how a middle-grade school in a small town in Tennessee wound up creating a memorial to Holocaust victims. The Grade Eights in the school study the Holocaust, and one in the class asked, "What is six million? I've never seen six million of anything, I can't picture it." The teacher instructed the class to do some research, decide on an appropriate item, and begin collecting six million of that item. They chose paper clips because Norwegians, who invented the paper clip, wore them on their clothes as a silent, secret protest against the Nazi regime. They had a little trouble in the beginning, and weren't sure they would collect enough paper clips. But then - oh my.... Excellent story.

Unexpectedly heartwarming - and that word usually has me running for the hills. This project is one of those things that remind us that human beings can be pretty terrific sometimes.

Every time I see a paper clip I will remember this documentary and the dedicated commitment of all the Holocaust Project participants. It is educational, emotional and inspirational.

This is an amazing, inspiring story. If only all school children could have such an experience. The visits to the school from Holocaust survivors are particularly moving.
