I've found this book to be really helpful in showing how to build an entire storm water management system. I started with wanting to know more about water collection in rain barrels and rain gardens, but this book goes way beyond, showing how you need to incorporate multiple levels in your system for times of heavy rains, for moving water around to divert from the drainage system and to capturing water in unique ways like green roofs and storm water planters.

Very good information and can be applied to the Austin area even though its content mostly focuses on wetter climates in Europe. It also contains an Austin case study about using collected rain water for gray water needs in the home.
