Who knew you could turn this content into a story suitable for kids? Very heavy and sad, but still age-appropriate.

A work of fiction, it nevertheless is based on the story of Helmuth Hubener, a young boy in Nazi Germany. What I liked about it was that it showed that Germany was a victim of Hitler and the Nazis as France or the other European nations. There are slow spots and awkward moments in the story, but it is the theme of doing what is right despite the opposition that brings this story to life. The William Allen White Award winner for 2011.

Amazing perspective. I loved every page and fell in love with the character and their "YOLO" attitude.

I read this for school and really enjoyed it. It's good to hear that some people disagreed with the Nazis and spoke up about it.

Incredible tale of a boy who had the courage to stand against what is wrong. Powerful. Sad. Inspiring
