Not really what I was expecting. 90%+ of the book is about the history of neurology and why scientists are slowly coming around to the idea that your thoughts can influence your physical self. I wanted the book that comes "after" this one - how to actually train my brain! That said, it's well written and relatively easy to follow, if the subject matter interests you.
