My kids loved this movie and I really appreciated how it dealt wit Mr. Magorium's "departure". Wonderful topic of discussion for me and the kids.
It was a fun, magical movie, too bad it seemed to end so abruptly.

This is a magical, fun movie. It does not have any blood or violence. It is not 2 hours of potty jokes, people getting hit in the head, or falling down. There are no car chases or fist fight. It is a family friendly movie about believing in yourself. It also touches on the concept of death, because Mr. Magorium announces that it is time for him to “move on”. But it is handled tastefully and well. The movie is full of magic and wonder. It is the coolest toy store ever where stuffed animals reach out for hugs, toys move, and there is a magic room that changes. This is a great movie for 7 and up as far as understanding the story, but there is nothing inappropriate for younger viewers.

Hard to find these days something to watch with little ones that are not cartoons or CGI, This is one of those movies you can just enjoy watching with a 2.5 year old hanging around w/o worrying any inappropriate content. Its not pure animation and has good story for grown ups too.

Dustin Hoffman's performance as the profound & well scripted title character is just extraordinary, and child actor Zach Mills is also one to watch. At times both display a capacity for understatement that is not only appropriate but nothing short of remarkable, especially given the over-the-top, fantastical nature of the film.

Way better than I anticipated! Such a heart-warming story, reminding us all to listen to the inner-child and remember what it was like to truly believe in magic!

Hoffman's goofy accent ruined this for me. Otherwise it isn't bad.

Molly Mahoney: Mr. Magorian, I asked the big book for a lollipop and I got a lemur!
Mr. Edward Magorium: A lemur? We don't even carry lemurs! I'm not even sure I know what a lemur is! Wait, is that that small primate-looking thing?
