I have been drawn to Paulo Coelho's writing since reading "The Alchemist," and "Aleph." Brida did not disappoint. It is a book which I consider to be spiritual; but i can well see how someone else may call it a romance or a book about witchcraft. If you were to summarize it in one sentence it'd have to be about finding yourself and your place in the world.

A book about soul searching and discovering the meaning of oneself. Your soul mate isn't always the person you end up devoting the rest of your life with but rather one who knows how to nourish your mind, heart, and spirit.

I adore Paulo Coelho; his deep way of looking at the world sparks my soul.

I was so excited to read Brida but was surprisingly let down by the dry writing and odd pace. Perhaps that's just his style, as this was my first read by Coelho and I didn't know shat to expect. I guess it just wasn't for me.

A novel with a supernatural spin, allowing love, mysticism and the search for answers to blend and co-exist in the same story.i wount recomended to someone not interested in learning about wichcraft and cristianity.

Interesting, but not nearly as good as the Alchemist.

Not the best work of Coelho but still an amazing contribution modern literature. It follows a traditional victorian plot arch but is a new take on a frequently explored topic: magic. I am not a fan of fantasy books but I liked Brida because it added a more modern and relatable feel to the surreal.

I liked it, but it was a little too out of the norm for me. I didn't like a lot of things in it, like the path of the sun or moon and the witch guy. It wasn't my favorite book on magic and witches. I have read much better.

"Every moment in life is an act of faith. You could choose to fill it with snakes and scorpions or with a strong protecting force. That faith cannot be explained. It was simply a Dark Night. And all she had to do was accept it or not." --Paulo Coelho
