An excellent, well written book on how to construct sentences. Tredinnick uses a multi-dimensional approach
-- basic sentences (13 types and their [probable] best usage,
- Grace, or a set of seemingly basic considerations we all violate, like I just did such as clarity, active vs. passive, beurocratic tics, technical profundity, etc Always useful to learn and review.
- Poetics, the ends, not the means, the aspect of writing we al struggle with. This section alone is worth the read.

- Shapely Thoughts
Two of the more abstract areas of writing. It's hard to find good sources of information on these, and the author does an admirable job. Invaluable insight, in my humble opinion.

Above all, this book reads very well. He writes like he suggests we should write. He practices what he preaches, and that's very refreshing and credible.

It's likely not the panacea your looking for, but I highly recommend it.
