I'm not much a fan of jukebox musicals, and I'm really not a fan of casting big name stars who cannot sing in any musicals. I'm looking at you Pierce Brosnan.

Weird. A weak, pathetic, weird plot. Terrible singing. Don't you think if you were to film a musical that you would look for actors who were both good at acting and singing? Rather stupid. Just for that, I give this 1and 1/2 stars. This stinks!

VERY GOOD 2008 rom-com film - lots of fine acting, filmography, and more...

Hi I'd die for this movie

Sophie Sheridan is having her wedding soon, but doesn't know who her father - and thus, who will walk her down the aisle - is. So when she sends out invitations to the three possible options and they travel to Greece to meet her mother, hilarity is bound to ensue! Based on the Broadway hit musical of the same name, Mamma Mia is the ultimate guilty pleasure, with an all-star cast (including Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, etc.) singing some of ABBA's greatest hits. Humorous, well-sung, and ultimately heartfelt, Mamma Mia is by far one of the best and most enjoyable movie musicals in the past decade.

Mamma Mia! is a musical rom-com movie led by an ensemble cast full of very well known actors and actresses that tells the story of Donna (Meryl Streep), a single mother whose daughter, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is getting married. Leading up to Sophie’s big day, she finds her mom’s diary and decides to secretly invite her three possible dads to her wedding. This easy-watching and uplifting comedy also pays tribute to the 70s and 80s Swedish pop group, ABBA. Filled with beautiful sceneries from a small Greek island of Skopelos where it was filmed and the cast’s fairly impressive attempt on performing ABBA’s hits, this movie definitely cheers people up and makes us all want to dance. 4.5/5

Mamma Mia! is such an amazing and hilarious movie featuring fantastic and renowned actors like Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried. Sophie (Seyfried) has a great life and she’s about to get married, except there’s still only one thing missing — her father. She reads her mom’s journal only to realize that there are three different men who could possibly be her father. Of course, she invites all of them to come to her wedding so she can figure out which one her real father is. You can guess that this decision results in quite a bit of chaos and funny moments! Not to mention, this movie has an amazing soundtrack featuring hit songs from the band ABBA that you’ll be singing and dancing along to with the cast. This is simply a classic must watch film. Rating 4/5.

Loved this one! Fun fun fun! Great ensemble. Sure, the singing isn't always the greatest, but it's very entertaining none the less. Also, the Greek setting is fantastic!

I am watching this sickening butchering of ABBA's classic music by one Meryl Streep and Christine Baranski.

Just awful!

Not to mention one Pierce Brosnan who was mostly like wood.

Just awful!

Still yet, you cannot deny ABBA.

The story is about a promiscuous woman (Meryl Streep) who has a child out of wedlock. Her child is now 20 and ready to marry, but she has no clue who her father is. She swipes the diary of her mom and finds 3 potential candidates. She invites all 3 to her wedding in hopes of determining which one is her real sperm donor. As nearly everyone agrees -- the highlight of the movie are the ABBA songs.

Ragged plot, but an interesting way to replay old Abba tunes.
