I like Kevin Bacon so I'm always up for his movies. For me, this was a rather lukewarm movie. I found it to be predictable but an OK watch.
This movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. Not too bad---good performance. Very predictable but still entertaining.
This is yet another example of Kevin Bacon as a real actor. It's not easy to pull this role off. This (character) is a damaged human being. He has real demons and has made some real mistakes in his life. But underneath is a person trying swim to the surface. He's trying to connect with the outside world again and because he still carries his demons inside him, he's able to see those things in others. He tries to stop another predator stalking his neighborhood.
This is a thin tightrope for Bacon to walk and he pulls it off magnificently. This is a hard movie to watch because it's very ugly, but that's also the way life really is, 30% beauty, 70% horror.
I was very surprised by this movie, I had never heard anything about it and saw it on the shelf one day and grabbed it. I was amazed at how much I enjoyed it. This is easily Kevin Bacon's best performance. I highly recommend checking this movie out, you won't be disappointed.
The makers/actors deserve credit for taking on such a difficult subject, and for doing a good job, overall. But, too many parts of the script feel contrived.
