A very interesting read for anyone who's interested in the Canadian Forces.

I was a bit disappointed. The jumpiness of the narrative makes the story a bit difficult to follow, but he gets the point across. I would have to say that this book has lessened my opinion of General Hillier, as he dishes out a lot of blame, takes a lot of credit, and glosses over the unsavoury bits. The shameless self-promotion of his second book near the end pushed it over the top.

I loved reading this book, as the grandaughter of a veteran, this is a really good read. General Hiller really cared about the Canadian Forces, and this book shows it.
