This is a well written, touching and sometimes funny book about a boy born with facial deformities and how he and his family have to deal with the reactions of the public and schoolmates. I really enjoyed this book and can see why the books are so much in demand.

This is not only the best book I have read in a long time, it is one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life. I have read a lot of books, so I do not say that lightly. From now on, I will think of this book as one of my favorite books of all time, and I will link it with Understood Betsy by Dorothy Canfield Fisher, which was written over 100 years ago. Truly classic books are timeless, and this book is a new classic.

I recommend this book to every person of every age, probably from at least age 8 up. Younger kids might not be able to read it to themselves, but it would be fabulous to read this book aloud! And while this may be a Young Adult book, it is suitable for everyone; there is no bad language or anything that would be a barrier to anyone.

And I think this book has an incredibly important message for our own divisive time: It does not matter what someone looks like on the surface; we are all human beings with the same feelings and the same need for community and friendship and belonging. Auggie may have a face that is frightening at first glance, but he is a real person behind that face. May we all make the effort to get to know the real people behind the faces that might make us uncomfortable.

Oh, I hope the movie is at least half as good as the book ...

This is a charming book about Auggie who sets off to Middle School with the challenge of a genetic facial deformity. The story is told from the point of view of several people in Auggie's life, including himself. This technique enables the many scenarios that Auggie faces to be viewed through others eyes and places the reader in the position of wondering what they themselves might do?
Auggie's sense of humour, family and a couple of great friends light a beacon of hope for the humanity of Middle School!

This was a very inspirational book to read. The book looks at a unique story through the eyes of young boy Auggie, and his difficult transition into school. It's an innocent book and you are guaranteed to find yourself on an emotional roller coaster as the author takes you through the ups and downs of what it's like to go to school for the first time and the challenges of that, topped with serious medical conditions leaving your face looking different, and as Auggie puts it, ugly. It shows how tough it can be to look past someone's exterior, especially for young children, but what a beautiful and life giving friendship you can obtain once you do. I would rate this 5/5 stars for its pure, innocent, and truly beautiful message. It is the perfect novel to read to kids.

Wonder is a truly heartwarming novel. The book begins when August Pullman, decides to start school. Through the ups and the downs of starting middle school, friend issues and having the most adventurous night of his life, the novel is unquestionably stunning. This book is also somewhat unique as well, as it is told between the perspectives of 8 characters. I really enjoyed every line in this novel. for most parts of this amazing book I was on the edge of my seat just craving more. For all the hype about this story, it is totally worth the read because it became my favorite book in less than 10 chapters. I would defiantly recommend this great tale, to all types of readers!

I would rate this book five stars because it made me want to read more. My favourite part of this book was when August went to the camp at the end of the year. I liked this part because it was really interesting how he stood up to those bullies and made a lot of friends. I would not give any feedback about this book.

"Let's face it, the universe was not kind to Auggie Pullman." -- Miranda

And still Auggie was able to face the world -- not always an easy thing for him, but he carries it out with intelligence and humor.

The movie is due out in November.
