I met the author some time in 2014 and was impressed by how much she could detail about Harper and what he had been doing in power. I did not want to read the book before the 2015 election since I thought it would annoy and upset me even more than I already was. I was correct. The book details more or less chronologically what Harper and his gang have done to the Canadian democracy. After reading the book I am extremely relieved and happy he was defeated in the election. There are many parts of the book that are very disturbing even when you remember some of the events and actions that were done. The book is well worth reading to remind us of just how mean, nasty and dangerous the previous PM was to Canada. It will take time to restore our democracy.

A valuable pre-election primer on all things Harper. There is little doubt that Canada is indeed an oligarchy. My 'old-stock' (1634) ancestors are rolling in their graves over his vision of the nation they were hoping to build.
