one of the most boring books i've ever read

Oct 17, 2016

I see why this wasn't higher rated. The beginning starts off very exciting with him exploring a cave. however it sets it up so very clearly and so very obviously that he's going to come back to the cave and get trapped. Breaking all the rules that he already knows which is: you do not go climbing alone and you never lose sight of the entrance. It's so freaking obvious that he's going to get trapped in there, that kills any sympathy you would ordinarily feel for this character. Because he's doing something, on purpose, that he knows is stupid and dumb and dangerous and life-threatening. Then there's a lot of information that I call filler, taking up space until the next interesting thing happens. Seems like according to others the plot continues to be slow. Page 20 dnf
