Most boring book of the series to date. The first 130 pages should have been no more than 40 to present the storyline. The remainder of the book was filled was just as much repetitive mental angst of the 2 lead characters. I had to bing watch TV the rest of the weekend, rather than start reading a new author's book.
Boring!!! She is so repetitive only trying to say the same thing using different words. Started to skip over paragraphs to see if the story went anywhere, but no it didnt. most of the book seemed like chapter fillers. It only starts feeling like there is a story line in the final chapters and there is no repetition. Not a fan of this book.
I felt as if the author had a page count her teacher had demanded, and she was struggling to fill it. (The only thing missing was font size 18.) There was a staggering amount of repetitive statements, even said with the exact same phrases. And the inner monologues! I started to lol, it got so ridiculous. All the characters are over-the-top Shakespearian dramallama pseudo people, with blatant and simplistic profiling. Who, apparently, needed to explain their (unlikeable and unrelateable) personalities and feelings over and over to me.
I HAVE NOT PATIENTLY WAITING FOR THE LIBRARY TO PUT THIS BOOK IN CIRCULATION(OVER ONE MONTH). THE EXCERPTS THAT I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO READ TELLS ME THAT I WILL LIKE THIS BOOK AS WELL. I DON'T READ HER KGI SERIES (IT JUST DOES NOT WORK FOR ME) BUT EVERYTHING ELSE I HAVE DEVOURED AND HUNGER FOR MORE.
I love Maya Banks, but this book did not do it for me. I did not believe in this relationship ; too much bla-bla-bla and not enough action. I must say that I have been disappointed with her latest books in her different series ((KGI, Enforcers, Slow burn). Something is missing.
