I've heard so many interpretations of the time he walked out on Leonard, from that he was covering up, screaming "No Mas! No Mas!", to somebody saying that he quit because Leonard was hitting him so hard. As for the phrase "no mas," more than one person said that he never actually said it, rather that he was saying things like "I box no more with that clown." As for "no mas," it's not the first or last time, by far, when Howard Cosell made up his own facts.
What I saw in that fight was a lot of running, clowning, taunting and showboating by Leonard, with his white fans, led by Cosell, screaming "Great Boxing." Far from Duran's greatest moment, but almost as far from Leonard's, either. It showed his innate phonyness.

I enjoyed it. Boxing, just like the music business, is a very shady business.

Solid, workmanlike biopic of the legendary "Manos de Piedra," Roberto Duran. If you like fight pictures, you'll like this one. If you like acting, you won't be disappointed here. Edgar Ramirez is superb as Duran, and so is Robert De Niro, as trainer Ray Arcel. if you're an anti-imperialist, there's some grist for your mill too since a prime motivation throughout Duran's career was the colonial status of his native Panama. But mostly why I enjoyed HANDS OF STONE is that it made me re-live the Duran-Leonard title fights. Those two 1980 fights were huge, I'm talking "Where-were-you-at-the-time?" gigantic. Makes me want to go back and watch them on YouTube.

Great movie. So much more than a boxing movie and love story. Has depth of character and country to it. Loved this movie.

Very good film and I'm sure I had subtitles all but one or two sentences for the Spanish dialogue, and if I recall correctly it wasn't needed and it's known what is being said based on actors emotions.

I would say the only reason this movie didn't do well at the box office was because of it's portrayal of America. Or maybe people just don't like boxing movies!

Good movie, but very hard to follow because of the frequency with which the dialogue was in Spanish, with no subtitles.

One of the best movies I have seen this year. Very well done. Great acting by Robert DiNiro, Edgar Ramirez as Roberto Duran and Usher was amazing as Sugar Ray Leonard! See this movie, a love story inside a boxing movie. Direction and cinematography was superb. Better than many academy award nominees. Even my wife enjoyed this boxing movie.
