This book is a new and fascinating take on the classic fantasy novel, that combines magic, evil, and books within the story itself. After Meggie’s father reads aloud a tale of magic and wonder, an evil character within the book comes to life. This forces Meggie to enter this dystopian world and find a way to save everyone before it is too late. The book has a Victorian age feel that takes you out of modern day back into a time of wizards, magic and more. It is a captivating story with many diverse characters and interesting subplots. I would rate this book 4.5/5 stars and recommend it to those who love fast-paced and fantasy stories. - @The_Reviewer of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library This was my childhood read that I would go to every so often in our school library. It was actually one of the only good books I found, sitting on the shelf, looking mysterious and full of promises. So naturally one day in elementary school, I picked it up to explore the world Inkheart opened for me. It was a great thrill up and down through plot twists and adventures, which really helped me broaden my imagination as a child. This could make an excellent read as a bedtime tale, stretched over a period of time, with thoughtful reflection. - @Siri of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
