This book is one of my most favourite and memorable books! I read it years ago and I remembered that I loved the plot twist so I decided to read it again, and I still think it’s amazing! There are some spooky parts, mostly about ghosts, as well as many events that add to the storyline perfectly. The main characters, Polly and Rose have a great friendship and I think that the way they are portrayed as polar opposites makes the story so much more interesting. The book is told by both of their perspectives which carries suspense because each of the character’s perspectives leaves on a mini cliffhanger. While I was reading, I also noticed how the books didn’t have many bright and happy parts. It consists mostly of dark and gloomy scenes which adds to the ghostly aspect of the book. As I mentioned before, I think the plot twist is remarkable and the plot twist is the reason why I remembered it to be a great book! I really recommend this book because it’s a very well-written book and I really enjoyed how the story added up in the end! 5/5 @stardkdust07 of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board "The Swallow A Ghost Story” by Charis Cotter is my all time favourite book about ghosts. It has an unexpecting twist to it which makes the book even more interesting. Everything about this book is very unique. At first sight, you can tell that the cover is what separates it from the other books. When I first saw the book I thought it had to do with a swallow, which is a type of bird. I thought that because it was in the title and the illustration on the front cover. Little did I know it had to do something way more interesting. Since this is a ghost story I would recommend people who are 10 years and older to read this. If you are interested in reading ghost stories I definitely think you won't regret reading this. I rate this book a 5/5 @TheBookieReadingMonster of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
