Sebastian Rudd is a street lawyer who takes on the toughest cases and the roughest clients. Need an accused child killer defended? He's your man. Jury tampering, bribery and extortion are all in Rudd's playbook. In this novel, several cases are described in vignettes, some that have connections. Some reviewers have mentioned that Rudd is not a likeable character, but as with all of Grisham's characters, he's just a type, not a real character, so liking and disliking don't really come into it in my opinion. The cases are interesting and it's fun to see them connected and how they come out. Since this was a pb, it was a "bag book" for me. Lightweight in more ways than one. Still, I wouldn't mind reading about some more of Rudd's exploits.
