A weird read. Patterson seems to say, "I am a master writer, hear me roar." He has a little something for everyone in this: do-gooder bullshit for the liberal snowflakes who like to pretend to do good, but mostly just talk about it; and religion for those so disposed--even outright mysticism for the desperately ignorant who point their fingers skyward as if there was a man up there who cared one whit about their small unworthy lives. George Carlin got it so right in his skit: "Religion is bullshit." Patterson roars through this novel like the big queer in Fast and Furious garbage, speed-shifting like Richard Petty with more scene shifts and subplots than obama has lies.
